Why see a dietitian?
Do you want to lose weight? Gain healthy weight and muscle? Boost your performance during your race? Increase your energy? Improve your overall health? That's where I come in. Nutrition is more complex than calories in versus calories out, and sometimes it even goes beyond food. Often times, I see clients who have reached a plateau in their weight loss journey because they aren't eating enough calories, or others who think they are eating healthfully, but taking in more calories than they need without even realizing it. Everyone is different; with different needs, habits and lifestyles; and it's my job to decipher your unique puzzle to help you meet your goals. My strategy with everyone varies, depending specifically on his or her needs. After I assess your eating habits and routine, I will work with you to determine what is the best course of treatment for your unique needs. Some people enjoy a structured plan, others appreciate accountability, and some like simple goals. In the end, I believe that it all starts with what you put into your body, that moderation is important, and that a healthy life is a happy life.
Basic Nutrition Consultation Package
Basic Nutrition Consultation Package
This option includes three services: one 60 minute initial appointment, a 30 min follow up appointment, and a food log analysis. I ask that clients commit to working together for at least a month, because a one-time visit cannot possibly offer you everything that you need to succeed.
--------------------
1) An initial appointment (60 minutes)
This can be done via phone, video conference, or email - your choice. During this appointment, I will gather information about you, your medical history, your nutrition history, your diet intake, your exercise history, lifestyle habits, and any other information that will help me get to know you and your goals. Anyone can "google" information about diets and nutrition, but the more I know about you, the more I can help create a personalized nutrition plan for you. At the end of this appointment, I will ask that you keep a food log for a minimum of three days.
2) Follow up appointment (30 minutes)
This appointment typically occurs 1-2 weeks after the initial appointment. Follow ups are an opportunity to ask questions, learn about new tools, and feel supported. During this appointment, I will review your food log with you and present you with a nutrition plan to move forward. I will provide three goals for you to work on, and we will determine the best course of action for you.
3) Food log analysis
I will review your food log and look for any nutrient discrepancies. I will present you with a calorie, micro-, and macronutrient analysis and help you with ways to either increase and/or decrease your micro- and macronurient values.
